Society of Cancer Research is a National Society and was established few years ago. The overwhelming response of the cancer patients who thronged free molecular diagnosis offered by a group of young scientists from CANCER GENETICS LAB with missionary devotion and dedication gave inspiration for establishment of this Society. It is in this scenario that the establishment of a broad based Society was felt which besides young scientists, PhD students, and doctors include people from all walks of life.

     The mission of the Cancer society isto prevent and cure cancer through research,education, communication and collaboration. Through its programs and services, the SCR fosters research and related bio medical science; accelerates the dissemination of new research findings among young scientists, Doctors and others dedicated to the conquest of cancer; promotes science education and training; and advances the understanding of cancer causes, prevention, diagnosis and treatment throughout the world.

        The aim of the Cancer Society is to advance research in all the aspectspromote interaction among scientists in this field, and spreadawareness about canceramong common people. SCR will publish fourissues of Newsletter’ every year, for the dissemination of information aboutCancer society activities and the latest scientific developments. Thisnewsletter will reach to more than10,000 members of theassociation. Eminent scientists and Doctors will contributeresearch articles in these and provide thelatest information to thereaders.

         Annual meeting of our Cancer society is one of  the major activities that will take place every year. As a part of the Annual meeting, aneminent Young scientists and Doctors, PhD students in the field of cancer research will be invited to deliver lectures each year. Travel awardswill be given to the students, to enable them to participate in theAnnual meeting of the Society.

       To give utmost respect for young talent, young scientists and Physicians in volvedin cancer Research The central executive council (CEC) members of Societyof Cancer Research has created many AWARDS to recognize members of the society for outstanding achievements incontributions to achieving the goals of our cancer societyand the AWRDSwill be an honor awarded to a member of the Society whohas made distinguished / outstanding contribution to cancer research. Thefollowing AWARDS have been created on the recommendation of the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

The societyis organizing an International Conference on Cancer in themonth of Oct 2013 in collaboration with Cancer Genetics Lab, Department ofBiochemistry, Maulana Azad Medical College and AssociatedHospitals, New Delhi 110002 .The event will provide an internationalforum for the presentation and discussion of frontier cancer research in theearly detection, prevention and treatment of cancer andtheir relatedtechnologies.
